Website development

A business website should load fast on a mid-range phone, say clearly what you do, and make it easy to contact you. That is what I build, with clean code you or another developer can maintain.

fig. 02A page, drawn to be fast

Plain HTML and CSS first, small scripts only where a feature needs them.

§ 1Who it is for

Who this is for.

  • New businesses that need a credible first website
  • Existing businesses with a slow, outdated or hard-to-edit site
  • Teams that need a simple web app or customer portal

§ 2Deliverables

What you get.

  • Responsive design tested from small phones to large desktops
  • Clear page structure, titles, descriptions and structured data for search engines
  • Accessible markup and good performance by default
  • Deployment to a host you own, plus a handover so you control the domain and hosting

Typical work

Examples of the kind of work, not a list of past clients.

  • Business and service websites with contact, policy and about pages
  • Landing pages for a campaign or product
  • Content sites with a simple way to add articles
  • Small web apps: booking requests, dashboards, internal tools

§ 3How it runs

How it runs.

A decision point at every step.

  1. Agree pages, content and goals

  2. Design direction and a preview link you can open on your phone

  3. Build, content loading and testing

  4. Launch on your domain and hosting; handover

§ 4From you

What I need from you.

A little preparation on your side makes the work faster and cheaper.

  • What the business does, who it is for, and what a visitor should do next
  • Text and photos, or a budget and time to create them with you
  • Your domain name, or a decision on one (it is bought in your name)
  • A list of two or three sites you like and one you do not

§ 5Cost

What it costs.

Scoped per project

There is no price list, because two businesses never need the same thing. After a short call you get a written quote within one working day: what is included, milestones, timeline and payment schedule. Nothing starts until you approve it.

§ 6Tools and limits

Tools and boundaries.

Tools I typically use

  • Astro
  • HTML, CSS and TypeScript
  • Cloudflare Pages / static hosting
  • Headless or file-based content

Not included

  • Domain and hosting fees are paid by you directly to the provider, in your name.
  • Copywriting and photography are separate unless agreed in the scope.

§ 7Questions

Questions about this service.

How fast will my site be?

I build static, lightweight pages and test them against Lighthouse and on a mid-range phone. I will share the real measured numbers for your site at launch, not a promise in advance.

Can I edit the content myself?

Yes. Sites can be built so text and articles are simple files or a lightweight editor. I will agree the approach with you in the scope.

Who pays for hosting and the domain?

You do, directly to the provider, in your name. Static hosting is often free or very cheap for small sites.

Will people find it on Google?

I set up clean structure, titles, descriptions, speed and structured data. Rankings depend on many things outside any build, so I do not promise positions.

Tell me what is slowing the business down.

A short message is enough. I reply within one working day with honest next steps, not a sales pitch.
